About lnwjud-readme

Windows-first Local Development & MCP Gateway for AI Agents Supercharge ChatGPT, Codex, and Claude with native Windows capabilities, secure tunnels, and live monitoring.

lnwjud is a Windows-first local development gateway that exposes an approved development workspace through Model Context Protocol (MCP). It lets ChatGPT, Codex, or another MCP client inspect source code, search a project, review Git state, edit files, run approved project commands, inspect process logs, and optionally delegate work to the local Codex CLI.

The code and commands remain on the Windows computer. ChatGPT web does not receive a public shell and does not read the local Codex configuration. For a ChatGPT web connection, OpenAI Secure MCP Tunnel forwards MCP requests to a local lnwjud process; the tunnel is outbound-only.

Release v3.0.0 builds on the v2.0.0 MCP gateway with a branded Windows tray mode, permission enforcement for Desktop MCP capability tools, profile-safe stdio/tunnel startup, and stable external tunnel state detection. It keeps the 184-tool catalog, compound/parallel workflows, persistent workspace indexing, paged reads, Live Logs v2, recovery/session state, capability discovery, project/visual inspection adapters, and the Context Economy Engine for quota-aware discovery and duplicate-aware delivery. See the phase completion checklist and the foundation benchmark.

The v2.2 visibility contract separates discovery efficiency from access: automatic filename/text search, indexing, and watchers skip vendor/build/cache trees, binary files, generated bundles, and source maps to save I/
