Istok is a local CLI and MCP server that keeps coding-agent work with your project instead of inside a conversation.
Tasks, context, progress, runs, validation, and repository knowledge remain available when a session ends, when you start a new conversation, or when another coding agent takes over.
Istok is not another backlog or issue tracker. It is a local execution layer for work that has already reached your coding agent.
The installer detects your operating system and architecture, verifies the downloaded release, and installs istok into:
No elevated privileges are required for the default installation.

Istok can also be used with Claude Code, Cursor, Antigravity CLI, and other MCP clients.

Once configured, continue working with your coding agent normally.
You generally do not need to manually create tasks, claim runs, prepare context, or record validation. An agent configured to use Istok can do that through MCP as part of its workflow.
Coding-agent conversations are temporary. The work behind them often is not.
